Lord Jesus, I thank You for a brand new day! I praise You for You are holy and good.
I praise You for You are great in power and wisdom, in creative works, redemptive acts, and in Your dealings with Your children. Everything You do is great, and You are greatly to be praised! (Ps. 48:1)
I thank You for loving us so incredibly that You sent Your one and only Son, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8) – for all who would believe (John 3:16) so that we could live eternity in perfect relationship with You.
Lord, You knew us before we were born (Ps. 139); You planned and knew how You would use each one of us for Your purpose and for Your glory. In Your perfect time will we see the next step of our journey. Praise You…
Lord, quiet our hearts that we will know that You are God (Ps. 46:10); that we will know Your presence with us.
Lord, I pray for all those You have placed over us as a nation. I pray first and foremost for their salvation; that they would come to know You as Lord and Savior. May they act with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. I pray Your protection over them that they would lead justly and courageously in accordance with Your will; that we would live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence, for all of this is good and acceptable in Your sight as You desire for all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Bring upon us O Lord a powerful and continuing revival that all would come to know You as Lord and Savior (1 Tim. 2:1-4).
Sanctify us O Lord for this is Your will that we would control our bodies in a way that is holy and honorable, not like those who do not know You (1 Thess 4:3-5).
Strengthen our minds O Lord and give us clear thoughts and creative ideas that would change the world by doing good as a result of faith, in accordance with Your will (1 Pet. 2:15-16).
Open our eyes, ears, and hearts to hear and believe Your truth over the noise of this world. Let the light of Your truth flood in, shining Your light on the hope You are calling us to embrace (Eph. 1:18).
Fill our mouths O Lord with words of wisdom, grace, mercy and love – not foolishness; blessing and not cursing (James 1:5).
Prepare us each day O Lord to carry the burden of godliness with courage and kindness, strength, gentleness, and grace (Eph. 2:10).
Help us stand against the darkness of this world – a darkness that brings stress and confusion. Place a hedge of protection around us so that we will know truth over lies (Rom. 12:21; Eph. 6:16; 1 Cor. 10:13).
Strengthen us O Lord for the work You have for us to do (Prov. 16:3).
Purify us O Lord that we would be trustworthy; that we would do good and not evil; that we would be hard workers, providing for family and the needy; that we would fear nothing; that we would honor our spouses; that we would not be idle; that we would fear You as the holy God that You are. May our works speak of our love for You; may we be gracious and thankful and found worthy (Prov. 31).
Open our hands, O Lord, to the needy and to the lonely, to anyone who needs a friend. May we be found worthy in Your sight, a good and faithful servant.
Strengthen us O Lord to walk through the hills and valleys of this world and of this life with You. May we run and not be weary; walk and not be faint (Is. 40:31; Phil. 4:13).
Order our footsteps O Lord according to Your word and Your will (Ps. 119:133).
In all things, I pray Your perfect will (1 Thess 5:18), and may You be honored and glorified I pray in the perfect and beautiful name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior… amen.
